Spring is now well underway.
At sea level, most of the snow has now melted, revealing the winter’s ‘leftovers’ – stuff that has got buried, sometimes leaving unsightly piles of rubbish. A couple of weeks ago a car bumper started to be revealed, and I was curious to find out if a whole car had been buried, but it turns out to be just a chunk of the front (although I wonder how it got there).
Buds have been appearing on some trees and bushes for nearly two weeks now, and on Thursday I saw the first flowers (dandelions).
Another sign of spring are confirmation services. Today was the first confirmation service in Finnsnes church, and we have 7 more to go. The church was packed, including the parish hall and gallery (probably over 400 people). For the first time we had a mixture of a full contemporary band and the organ. A very joyful occasion and we pray that people will want to come again!
